When squirrels inhabit an attic, they chew to wear their teeth, and damage wood rafters, ceiling joists and electrical conductors. The bare live conductors here can cause a fire, or electrical shock and needs immediate attention; repair, removal of all soiled insulation, and review of all electrical wiring in the attic by licensed electrician and repairs made as determined. The place needs to be sanitized and re-insulated. This is costly and certainly is dangerous.
