Whoops! the contractor forgot to finish the chimney after they added a second floor on this house. (Maybe no one will notice way up here, says he). The crown was never installed, the flue liner is short, the screen is non-conforming and actually potentially dangerous as birds can make a nest on this warm area blocking the flue and causing hazardous conditions in the house for the occupants. The seller's inspector (an architect) missed this one when he inspected the house. He has since moved out of the state. So long!
